The Black Tie and Bling Ball Elbert Wurlings 18th December 2008 The Black Tie & Bling Ball was held on Thursday 18th December at Elberts, in Hertford. It was a Over 16's night and was aimed at all local schools around Hertfordshire. I wanted to get people Ellis's age to get involved with the helping of the fundraising and thought this was a great event to make people more aware of " The Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation Trust." We advertised the Ball at Queenswood, where Ellis attended her secondary education and also Haileybury Ellis's friends also attended. We also advertised The Ball in the mercury, & people also heard about The Ball through Facebook, where I set up a group to give information and details of the Ball, this was one of our greatest forms of advertising. The Ball was a great success, the night ran to plan and their was a great atmosphere throughout the evening. On the door guests received a Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation Trust wristband, in pink which was personalised for Ellis as everybody who knew her would know she loved a bit of pink! Guests were also given illuminous necklaces and bracelets which were popular with everybody! On arrival guests were offered a complimentary cocktail. The DJ made sure nobody was shy and in no time the dancefloor was crowded! At around 11 o clock, the DJ called me to the Dj box, to draw the raffle. Everybody who was at the Ball had brought a ticket and every ticket had been entered into the raffle. Their was a ipod touch, Jack Wills £25 voucher and a itunes voucher to be won! Once the raffle had been drawn, I took some time to take photos and speak to some old school friends, to see if they enjoyed the evening. Towards the end of the evening canapes were handed around and Ellis's favourite songs were played throughout the last half an hour. Everybody i spoke to seemed to have a clearer understanding of The EHC Foundation Trust and was now aware of the charity and what its intentions where. Overall as a team we were extremely pleased with how The Black Tie & Bling Ball went. We raised over £1400 in profit which made the event a huge success, people were made more aware of The Ellis Harriet Clark Foundation Trust and people Ellis's age were getting involved in raising money for charity. As a team we were very pleased with how the event planned out and are looking forward to the next event that the EHC Foundation Trust hosts! Thank you for all the donations made to the charity and the support and effort everybody contributed to making this event so successful, we very much appreciate it. Annabella Falletta |
